Telcommunication Officer
Summary Description :
• The
Telecommunications Officer is principally responsible for installing
and configuring of Data Communications Devices and equipment for
LANs / WANs and networking technologies for the company and all
its subsidiaries, training and supporting HBAP Network users / clients
and their networks. He shall be able to meet business needs, train
the customer on the solutions provided, and document the solution
for ongoing support. The Telecommunications Officer shall function
as part of an implementation team on larger projects, or individually
provide his services on support visits or smaller projects. The
Telecommunications Officer shall also provide technical support
to various company business units and assist with the design of
LAN/WAN - Router based solutions.
• Beyond
these core accountabilities, the Telecommunications Officer shall
play a leadership role in the Telecommunications Department. This
includes independently managing the integration of advanced technologies
into client environments, leading project implementation teams and
managing of project activities, assisting with the training and
development requirements for self and colleagues. The Telecommunications
Officer will participate in development of quality assurance procedures,
technical standards, operational procedures and annual technology
budget plans for the company, INM IT Telecommunications.

Academic Qualifications:
• To
fill this position the standards require relevant telecommunications
qualifications to a University Level.
Minimum qualification requirement:
• B.E.
or B.S. (Computer Engineering) OR
• B.E.
or B.S. (Electronic Engineering) OR
• Post
Graduate Diploma or specialised qualification in Systems Design
and Integration
• Certifications
of CCIE / CISSP / CISA / CCNA / CCNP / CNE / MCSE / CCSA
Computer System or Telecommunication Network Operations Experience:
Computer Systems Operations of an international corporation (MNC)
with at least 8 years working experience, OR
Networking Engineer / Officer / Executive in the Projects Division
of a local or international PTT with at least 4 - 6 years experience
on WANs, OR
General Experience:
• Overall
6 - 8+ years' technical hands-on experience
• 3
- 4+ years experience and thorough knowledge of Routing Protocols
and other Networking Technologies: Internetworking with TCP/IP,
Cisco IP / IPX Routing, Managing of Cisco Devices, Access
Lists / Extended Access Lists, Cisco IOS Command Line Interface
and Configurations, WAN Internetworking
using High end Cisco Catalyst Switches and Routers.
Various protocols: EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, BGP-4, IPSec, VPN, Frame
Relay, OC-3/12/48, HSRP, VRRP, ISL trunking,
VLANs Multi-layer Switching (MLS), RADIUS, also a firm grasp of
entire OSI Model and all core protocols
of the TCP/IP suite.
• Hands-on
experience and knowledge of configuring Cisco routers as FRAD (Frame
Relay Access Device) and FR - Frame Relay
Switch.
• The
candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work independently
and troubleshoot problems with speed and
efficiency. Knowledge of designing and implementing of complete
security solutions using Firewalls, Intrusion
Detections systems, etc shall be added advantage.
• 2+
years' experience with Win2K's - Active Directory / Novell's - Network
Directory Structures, including thorough
knowledge on Win2K's PDC / BDC's concept, trust relationships, etc.
• 2+
years' experience with Microsoft Windows, IIS, PROXY, DNS and DOS
is required.
• Hands-on
experience with TCP/IP, SNA, UNIX internetworking and Wide Area
Networking is mandatory.
• Strong
interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are
required.
• Experience
in leading a technical project team, staff training and/or supervision
is highly desirable.

Skills Required -
OS Skills - Should have worked in a UNIX environment. Solaris,
AIX, Linux preferred.
Windows skills - Win NT/2K Installation, configuration
& administration of Open LDAP, IBM LDAP Installation, configuration
& administration of Qmail, based mail systems Installation, configuration
& administration of Radius Software' s
Candidate should be familiar with ISP architecture, operation
& troubleshooting.
Good Communication is a must.

NW OPS Engineer / Implementation
Location: Mumbai
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Part
of the team responsible for Operation and Management of NOC (Network
Operation Center). As part of NOC activities,
he'll be assisting for operation & Management of company backbone
including customer managed VPN networks
& other IP based services like VOIP etc
• He'll
be responsible to coordinate with NMS vendors for customization
of NMS to meet customer specific requirement
for monitoring window for monitoring traffic/latency/packet loss/CPE
status/VPN tunnels, reports etc
• He'll
work closely with implementation team for commissioning of large
VPN projects for customers.
• As
part of his responsibility, he'll be monitoring traffic/latency/packet
loss, routing issues, security vulnerabilities
on the backbone as well as managed VPN solution.
• Trouble
ticket generation and call tracking
• Co-ordination
with Transmission Liaison team for following up last mile issues
• First
level router & other CPE diagnosis
• Routing
knowledge including Rip2, OSPF, BGP4 and VPN technologies ipsec,
GRE, L2TP etc
